Tottenham is the Soul of the Centre in the Heart of NSW.

Tottenham is a unique and welcoming village, recognized as the closest township to the geographical centre of NSW. It is home to a very close knit community, where members are known for their volunteering power and support of one another. Initially a mining town, Tottenham now specialises in the production of wheat and other grains, alongside the production of prime lamb, wool and beef.

With an extremely low crime rate, and excellent combined primary and secondary school, Tottenham is the perfect place for families wanting to feel safe and experience what it truly is to live in the bush. It is all inclusive, with new updated disability friendly ramps and toilets, and encourages community and family integration into school events. Tottenham Central is also home to the public town library, supported by the Lachlan Shire Council, that allows members to join and borrow, at no cost..

We also have a Grocery Store, Petrol Station, Take Away, Numerous Garages and a combined Newsagency and Post Office. We have a Doctors Surgery, Hospital, Churches, newly refurbished Airstrip, Day Care Centre and retirement units. When seeking accommodation, look no further than the Local Caravan Park or the Tottenham Hotel. The Tottenham Hotel also houses a kitchen offering both bistro meals and pizzas. For those who enjoy shopping, we are only 1.5hrs away on sealed road from Dubbo NSW, which can be reached by our local weekly town bus..

Despite its small size, Tottenham boasts some excellent sporting facilities, some that have just recently been renovated and updated. If you enjoy swimming and water sports, you may choose to visit our local swimming pool that houses both an adult and kiddy pool. Those who enjoy golf are welcome to the Tottenham Golf Club and Course where you may play a full 18 holes, amongst some interesting local wildlife including kookaburras and kangaroos. The Bowling Club encourages all to join them in a friendly game of bowls, and perhaps a cold beverage with a Chinese meal. We also have both tennis and squash courts, as well as a motocross track. For those who prefer exercising alone, there is excellent outdoor gym equipment set situated at the local sports oval, that all community members have access to, free of charge.

Tottenham is a clean and beautiful town, boasting numerous NSW Tidy Town awards. We are home to a vast number of native vegetation and animals, including kangaroos, emus, lizards, goannas, snakes, echidnas and wallabies, as well as a variety of bird life including kookaburras and galahs. We are the quintessential country town.

We take great pride in our well presented streetscapes, lush park and gardens and friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We also have a very active Lions Club, Picnic Races Committee and Men’s Shed, that all are welcome to join. If you want the outback country lifestyle, combined with the convenience of being situated within close proximity to a major City Centre, look no further than Tottenham. Whether you wish to visit, or are considering something more long term, know that you will be welcomed open-armed into our beautiful little community. We hope to see you in Tottenham Town!
