Welcome to Tottenham, population 320 and district of approximately 1000, located in Central West of NSW. The village of Tottenham was established as a result of the discovery of copper in the early 1900's. The town now depends on a large diverse Agricultural Industry for its economic sustainability.
Situated on the sealed Bogan Way which links the Newell Highway at Forbes or Parkes to the Mitchell Highway at Nyngan. This provides a shorter, more scenic and relaxed, alternative journey for travellers. Tottenham which is located in the northern end of the Lachlan Shire is part of the Heart of N.S.W.
Tottenham has a unique feature, being the closest village to the geographical centre of NSW. The centre of NSW Cairn, which was constructed using SLAG from old Mount Royal and the Bogan River Copper Mines, is located 42kms West of town.
This small rural community enjoys a very relaxed lifestyle friendly, supportive residents. There is a very strong civic pride which has been rewarded with many Tidy Towns Award successes including Catergory A "Overall Winner" in 2002, 2004 and 2007.
The town is very proud of its appearance with beautiful streets and gardens. The public and sporting facilities are also a feature. The racecourse is recognised as an outstanding venue with beautiful lawns and gardens and immaculate buildings. The local swimming pool, preschool, memorial park, tennis courts, bowling club, and golf club are all outstanding facilities.
